Vertical Migration of Zooplankton
It all started when...
My mood has always fluctuated significantly over the course of an hour, a day, a week. I wanted to make myself a visual reminder that these fluctuations are natural, and cyclical. In a 1950s encyclopedia, I found a digram depicting the vertical migration of zooplankton, as they feed at differing depths based on light penetration. I felt an immediate impulse to remix this imagery into a large-scale painting—a daily reminder that the ups and downs are okay, and even healthy.
